Big Rigs:
- There is ample room to maneuver a large rig. The campground roads are wide so you can take wide turns. The main road around the campground loops around too so you don’t have to back up.
- We don’t have 50 amp service. The maximum we have is 30 amp service.
- The main road from Highway 11 to the campground is well maintained gravel with calcium. The roads in the campground are asphalt and crushed rock.
Pets:
- Dogs can swim at the beach as long as you have control of your dog and can ensure it won’t jump on other guests or be aggressive. You must also leash your pet to and from the beach and pick up after it.
- We don’t have a dog park but you can certainly walk your dog unleashed on our back roads of the campground as long as your dog isn’t aggressive or threatens wildlife or guests. Please pick up after it too.
- We ask that you keep barking to a minimum. If your dog doesn’t stop barking, please put your pet in your RV.
- Pets must be leashed and not run around. Please do not tie them to our trees.
ATVs:
- We have trails nearby but keep in mind that we do not allow anyone under 16 years old to drive them on campground property and no ATVs allowed after 10:00 p.m.
- We don’t allow dirt bikes but you can bring them off campground property and connect to trails.
Campsites:
- The lakeside sites are back in and not pull through
- Some sites are more private than others depending on the amount of trees between them. Sometimes you can angle your RV to give you more privacy.
Firewood:
- We sell firewood on site for $10 per bundle
- Due to infestation issues such as the Emerald Ash Beetle, it is not ethical to bring your own firewood from anywhere outside the Thunder Bay district.
- Please do not scavenge for firewood or damage trees for fire starter or roasting sticks. There is a $150 fine for damaging any of our trees.
Northern Lights:
- Although absolutely stunning, northern lights only occur after solar flares so it’s difficult to predict when you may see them.
Wildlife:
- Do not harass any wildlife. Please ensure children don’t throw rocks at the ducks and other creatures
- In the area you may see red foxes, black bears, timber wolves, coyotes, moose, rabbits, ruffled grouse, pelicans, turtles, and various waterfowl and song birds.
- To deter bears, we freeze fish guts and have regular garbage pick up.
- We rarely see a bear in the campground but please don’t leave food or garbage outside.
- The easiest way to see moose and bears is to drive along the highway at sunset.
